Description One of the main objectives of the Energy Center LAB initiative consists on designing a Multi-Energy-System (MES) Co-Simulation Platform able to qualitatively and quantitatively solve energetic transition scenarios [1].
The prosumers and Energy Community initiatives will offer new opportunities for citizens entitled to generate renewable energy, including for their own consumption, store and sell their excess production of renewable electricity. The deployment of new peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading systems could economically benefits prosumers and energy communities transacting their renewable energy as goods and services and help to improve the efficiency of the entire energy system. These new local trading systems will transform the entire energy system in both physical (grid network) and virtual layers (market operation, information system, pricing).
This thesis focuses on analysis of P2P energy trading systems and their application in the smart grid involving prosumers and energy communities. Multi-agent and co-simulation frameworks should be adopted to simulate the behavior of the system and its actors providing insight on P2P trading benefits of relevance to the grid, prosumers and energy communities.
