Description The safety of a lithium ion cell, but also its performance in terms of energy density and life cycle, depends on many parameters such as the temperature, chemical composition and state of the electrodes. Today, the temperature is measured only outside the cell and the measurement error is high enough not to guarantee high safety. This leads to gas evolution inside the cell. It also changes the chemical composition. The thesis focuses on the realization of innovative nanostructured sensors placed inside the cell itself. The thesis work takes place within the European SENSIBAT project and is one of the strategic lines of the roadmap outlined by Battery2030plus (battery2030.eu) for the construction of batteries produced in Europe.
