Description The study aims to identify the relationship between different scanning strategy and distortion in components realized by the Directed Energy Deposition (DED) techniques. The preliminary study will be focused on the design of a geometry suitable to be realized with DED process that can emphasize the final part distortions when different scanning strategies are applied. That can be done using numerical simulation and verified on experimental results. Another fundamental aspect that must be considered is the relationship between the scanning strategy and the building rate.
