Thesis type APPLIED, EXPERIMENTAL

Description The thesis will focus on the topic of Configuration and Data Management or "Configuration And Data Management" (CADM), a process widely used by engineering organizations to manage the specifications of complex engineering systems, integrated in the management of the entire cycle of product life or "Product Lifecycle Management" (PLM). In summary, CADM can be understood as a set of internal PLM methodologies and procedures aimed at establishing and maintaining the consistency of the functional and physical attributes of each part / component of a complex system, with the overall requirements and performance set by the project. . Configuration Management is a process that is born and finds maximum application in sectors with a high technological rate such as that of aerospace projects, where the amount of technical information to be managed and the value of the product itself require and justify a timely management of its functional specifications, use and maintenance.
Specifically, the thesis - which will take place in collaboration with Leonardo S.p.A - Electronics Division - will aim to define and implement the essential features of a CADM system within the commercial PLM software already adopted by the Company. The SW functionalities must reflect the logic defined for the CADM system by the internal working group of the Company and will be developed in an agile way. In particular, the activity involves the development and implementation of CADM functionalities related to the most critical phases of product development, such as: preliminary studies, the creation of a demonstrator and / or prototype, etc.
Expected commitment: overall, the expected commitment for the thesis activity is 6 months full-time, of which about 50% (on average 2-3 days a week) will be spent at the company. Any flexibility with respect to concomitant study commitments and / or preparation for exams may be assessed, on a case-by-case basis, within reasonable limits of lengthening (1 - 2 months max) of the work program.
