Description With the aim to replace the internal combustion engines adopted for compressed air, with the related noise and pollutant emission problems, a novel full electric solution is searched adopting a combined power supply thanks to batteries and grid sources, target is to be able to use the only battery or both the power sources as a function of the employment conditions. The power level for the adopted solution would stay between 2.5kW and 4kW.
The control solution subject of the current proposal should must implement some functions actually not possible in a compressor adopting internal combustion engines, as automatic speed variation as a function of the working pressure or as a function of the power available from the sources (the only battery or both grid and battery).
The Master thesis will be developed in cooperation with FNA Compressors SpA (www.fnacompressors.com) in Robassomero (TO) Italy. The multinational Italian group has more than 75 years of experience in compressed air sector and is placed in the world market as one of the principal air compressors manufacturer in the industrial, professional and DIY. FNA is active in more than 120 countries. From 1948 to now FNA manufactured and distributes in the world more than 40,000,000 compressors 15,000,000 of which active.
