Description Thesis title: Creation of a visual monitoring system for the electrical/energy variables of the PoliTO photovoltaic generators.

This thesis proposal concerns the creation of a hardware/software system for the visual monitoring the electrical/energy variables of the PoliTO photovoltaic generators.

Under the supervision of the professors, the student will take care of the hardware, software, and data visualization aspects.

The work is divided into two parts: the first concerns the creation of a monitoring system based on open-source software and hardware. It will consist of a System-On-Chip such as the Raspberry Pi as the central body and pre-existing monitoring software that will be modified and optimized. The Raspberry Pi will be connected via MODBUS to a power meter that will be installed on one or more PoliTO photovoltaic generators to measure active power and other electrical/energy variables.

The second part of the thesis will regard the creation of a visual monitoring system of the measured data created specifically to highlight any underproduction and/or malfunctions in the monitored plants. The main programming language for creating this part is Python.

For further information, you can consult the reference page of the open-source project which will be used as an initial step: http://www.flanesi.it/doku/doku.php?id=start
