Thesis type MODELING AND SIMULATION

Description The Energy and Industrial sectors are vital sources of wealth and social value on a global scale but are also major sources of GHG emissions. CCU is nowadays regarded as one of the most promising pathways in the uphill road to CO2 mitigation. A conventional process layout where CO2 adsorption and catalytic conversion are performed in separated operation units will be simulated considering different CO2 sources, including power plants, industry and biogenic sources. The results from the simulations will be implemented in a techno-economic process analysis that will encompass the complete system chain, from feedstocks (RES, CO2 sources, H2-delivery processes) to final Synthetic Natural Gas, by including all the steps of the processes in order to fully assess the potential of the investigated technologies in the framework of a real industrial boundary.
