Description The variation in the mechanical characteristics and formability of aluminum alloys of the 6000 series (Al-Mg-Si) will be examined experimentally during their natural aging process. These alloys are used for the production of components for the body-in-white and the underbody of cars and are normally subjected to the following processing cycle: cold rolling; solubilization and quenching; partial natural aging; drawing or bending; further natural or artificial aging. The main purpose of the work will be to identify the time limits within which the sheets can be worked by hemming (bending of the edges). For this purpose, tensile, bending and micro-hardness tests will be performed, as well as optical and electronic metallographic analyses. The thesis will be carried out mainly in the CLN group plant in Via Pavia 72 in Rivoli (TO). The thesis will preferably be associated with a curricular internship carried out at the same company and location.
