Description Self-Sovereign Identity is a new digital identity model that empowers individuals to control their identity without relying on centralized authorities. SSI enables the creation, management, and verification of digital identities that are self-owned, portable, and interoperable. In the context of an energy data marketplace, SSI can potentially enable secure and efficient sharing of energy data while giving individuals control over their data.
This thesis aims to explore the concept of Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) and its potential integration within an energy data marketplace. The purpose of the research is to analyze the algorithms used to enable the methodology of SSI, and investigate the implications of adopting SSI in an energy data marketplace. This research aims to contribute to the body of knowledge on the use of SSI in various applications and provide a practical demonstration of its implementation in an energy data marketplace.
In particular, the research will begin with a comprehensive review of the literature on SSI and its algorithms and will examine its applicability to an energy data marketplace. The study will investigate the technical and social implications of SSI integration in the marketplace and identify potential benefits and limitations.
The research will then proceed to identify the most suitable SSI algorithms for the energy data marketplace and investigate the feasibility of implementing them.
The thesis will be developed in collaboration with LINKS Foundation.
