Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL
Description The scope of the thesis is exploring the possibilities that the blockchain and tokenization technologies could bring to the world of smart grid and electric vehicles applications. In a scenario where EVs can exchange tokens for energy on the blockchain, the vehicles could gather significant insight on the state of the power grid itself.
The idea is to exploit this opportunity to study charging patterns and behaviors to promote a more sustainable load balancing on the grid.
The candidate will be required to:
1. Design and develop a framework that allows the power grid to share insight on its load state
2. Study an optimization strategy for energy load balancing
3. Cooperate with backend and blockchain domains experts, to ensure the flexibility, safety and reliability of the proposed solution
The thesis will be supported by Concept Engineering Reply (https://www.reply.com/concept-reply), the company within the Reply Group specializing in digitizing and making the physical world smart through the development of IoT solutions applied to products, processes, and services. Concept Engineering relies on a group of experts in the fields of embedded systems (hardware and firmware), edge computing, IoT platforms, cloud computing, user channels, AI, ML, project management and PMO.
The target markets include automotive (and transportation in a broad sense), manufacturing, telco & media, insurance & finance, and medical. Additionally, an essential component of Concept Engineering is research and development, which aims to explore new technological frontiers to generate innovation.
