Description Software-Defined Networking and Fog Computing are two novel paradigms that are driving the evolution of networking and computing systems. The main keyword behind both the approaches is "flexibility", applied at the network layer thanks to the software-defined infrastructure, but also at the upper layers to obtain a highly distributed and dynamic computing environment.
Although these approaches are very promising, several aspects ranging from the fault tolerance to the efficient migration of services are still to be properly addressed. Some theses are available on this topic, each one with the aim of analyzing a specific issue. These theses are in collaboration with St. Louis University, USA (www.slu.edu), where the candidate is asked to spend some months working on the selected problem.
