Descrizione The recycled fraction of waste collected from the territory is a valuable asset. It is periodically sold to companies that recycle it, according to the daily price of the raw material, that might be extremely volatile. This Thesis is a part of a  collaboration between Moltosenso and the Department of Mathematical Science of the Politecnico, which is expected to produce a  Ph.D.
The goal of the thesis is to develop a model to help and support the decision-maker in deciding the optimal time to sell the recycled waste. The model must take into a plethora of variables, among which: price variation, the storage capacity of the citizen dumpster, collection-model adopted by the company.

Conoscenze richieste Statistical and optimization background is required, while
Financial Engineering knowledge is highly recommended.
The student must be able to implement the models on one of the standard Mathematical/Statistical software, such as R or Python.
