Descrizione Single Spoke Resonator Type 1 Cryomodule (SSR1 CM) is one of the 5 different types of cryomodules that will
constitute the PIP-II linac at Fermilab. The first prototype SSR1 CM was successfully built, and it is currently undergoing
testing at Fermilab (https://news.fnal.gov/2021/03/testing-wraps-up-for-first-fermilab-designed-cryomodule-forpip-
ii-accelerator/). The goal of this activity is to perform structural and thermal finite element analysis on the main
subsystems of the cryomodule (vacuum vessel strongback thermal shield) to characterize their behavior during
the critical steps of the assembly phases, transportation, and operations.
The thesis can be done either in-person at Fermilab (https://www.fnal.gov/pub/contact/index.html) or remotely. The modality will be agreed with Fermilab.

Conoscenze richieste A basic knowledge of using Solidworks and ANSYS software is preferred.

Note An exam average higher than or equal to 27/30 is a requirement.
