Description The thesis will focus on the development of a prototype of sensors for seismic / seismological measurements through the use of optical sensors. We would provide a low-cost sensor with adequate sensitivity for multi-sensor acquisition of active seismic measurements. Moreove, a prototype of high sensitivity sensor (triaxial) with larger spectral band for seismological monitoring (passive seismic measurements) will be developed.
Required skills The candidate must have a basic knowledge on optical sensora and on applied geophysics (seismic and seismology); basic skills in programming using matlab/octave/python or Labview are also required.
