keywords GALILEO, SATELLITE NAVIGATION, SMART CITITES

Reference persons FABIO DOVIS, MARCO PIRAS

Research Groups Navigation Signal Analysis and Simulation group (NavSAS)

Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL AND SIMULATION

Description The proposed project is focused to realize a smart system mainly composed by low cost GNSS receivers and environmental sensors, which are dedicated to acquire data about air quality and environmental parameters (lightness, UVA index, road safety condition). This system will be able to recording raw data and georeferencing them. Moreover, a specific GIS platform will be realize to analyse and visualize them.
The project will be carried out starting with the design of the integrated system and studying low cost sensors available for this aim. Moreover, a prototype will be realized and it will be installed on a bicycle and tested in the LIVING LAB of Turin municipality (Campidoglio district). The activity could be also developed into the student team POLiCYCLE (www.polito.it/geomatics_lab)

Required skills Positioning, satellite based navigation
