Descrizione The thesis aims to optimize building design choices (e.g. insulation, shading, natural ventilation) thanks to the autmatic run of multiple simulations based on EnergyPlus I/O. The work will include: i. the development of a state of the art on parametric opmiser tools/interfaces usign EnergyPlus and others simulation engines; ii.the implementation in grasshopper (Honeybee and others) of simple EnergyPlus input files; iii. the development of GH scripts to model standard-representative zone types by adapting existing approaches - with the aim to support a simplified semi-automatic E+ input interface; iv. to run multi simulations assuming parametric changes in design inputting, supporting design choices (optional with GH-based optimiser); v. (optional) to check the potential integration of the developed GH script to generate basic E+ inputting file for POLITO tools such as PREDYCE. The thesis work is connected to the EU H2020 projects EDYCE and PRELUDE (depending on the final working directions).
Conoscenze richieste previous knowledge of Rhino and Grasshopper (medium to advanced); DesignBuilder or other EnergyPlus interfaces (basic knowledge is needed); python coding (welcome).
