Description The thesis aims at redesigning the user interface in the control panels of the in-classroom advanced teacher desks at Politecnico di Torino. Such desks contain several audio-visual devices and offer an ample configuration versatility. Such versatility sometimes causes a higher difficulty in understanding and operating the system, by the teachers using the system, thus causing a reduction in the overall quality of the lecture. The thesis will analyze, on one hand, the technical features of the current audio-visual systems, and, on the other hand, will elicit the needs from system users (teachers, from different areas of the university). A second phase will consist in the definition of tasks (main tasks and advanced ones) and the proposal of a suitable interface for activating them. The proposals will be evaluated by testing an interactive prototype and, time permitting, through a preliminary implementation.
