Description • Space is full of debris from satellite and rocket parts. With the progress of 3D printing insitu manufacturing , these debris could be re-use for building new space payloads (science instrument, satellite , rocket for exploration etc.)
• However the recycling process require a lot of energy. It is thus not clear if the recycling would save or lose energy.
• The objective of the thesis is to analyse the energy cycle of the recycling process for different debris and applications.
The thesis might include an internship up to 6 months with the European Space Agency - ESTEC (most probably to be done remotely due to COVID)
Deadline 19/02/2022
