Description The objective of this thesis is to explore how Usage-Based Insurance could benefit from blockchain technology. In particular, the student will develop a prototype of a telematics system able to automatically collect a fee from the driver as soon as he/she performs an aggressive manoeuvre (or to automatically reward him/her in case he/she has a calm/green driving style). The student will also investigate how telematics-related information could be stored with existing blockchain standards and will study which are the most appropriate blockchain frameworks (e.g., in terms of scalability, privacy, costs, etc.) for a telematics context.
