Description Nowadays, the human activity leads to the production of different types of wastewaters. In order to be released back into the environment, the water must be treated. In this context, the student will have to study different catalysts capable of breaking down pollutants such as heavy metals and drugs. The physico-chemical properties of the samples will be investigated through different analysis techniques such as FT-IR, XPS, XRD, FESEM, etc. The aim of the work will be to correlate their properties with the pollutant abatement results. Furthermore, these reactions will be study in the presence of light (photocatalysis) in order to study the peculiarities of this type of catalytic reaction and its effect on the abatement of pollutants.
The experimental activity will take place in the DISAT laboratories
