Description In the context of the research activities of the Internet Media Group, we are looking for a master thesis student with strong interests in learning and testing techniques for multimedia content analysis based on machine learning principles. Experiments will be carried out using an hardware accelerator (Coral AI) https://coral.ai/products/accelerator/ that will be made available to the student. The activity does not require to be physically present at the Politecnico except for borrowing the device the first time.
Required skills Reasonable knowledge of digital multimedia signal coding tools, i.e., being able to encode/decode a video. A reasonably good mark in the "Internet Video Streaming" course (or the older course "Elaborazione e trasmissione di informazioni multimediali" course) is appreciated but not strictly required; Basic knowledge of programming in C and (depending on the framework the Coral AI uses) potentially python
