Descrizione Research report based mostly on literature survey, to understand (i) use of living labs for the building industry, especially as related to occupant comfort and energy use studies; (ii) use of long-term monitoring of physical and physiological parameters related to human comfort (particularly related to thermal and daylight comfort), with different sensors (including low cost IoT ones); (iii) subjective questionaires types and collection. Possible questionaire to owners of living laboratories around the world.
Possible field activities related to the following aspects:
(i) support in the design of a Living Lab and related monitoring system;
(ii) test of the use of IoT sensors in building representative environments (like outdoor test cells) for data collection from human subjects;
(iii) test of the use of different type of questionnaires for subjective data collection.
These tests are aimed to evaluate different aspects, such us disrumption to occupants, accuracy and granularity of measurements, costs and reliability of the systems / sensors.
Conoscenze richieste Knowledge of Building Physics fundamentals and advanced concepts including thermal and daylight comfort (at least 2 building physics courses completed during the BSc and MSc degree); willingness and attitude for literature review and field work (including the use of some IoT sensors); Excellent Excel skills; elements of Python or Matlab programming (or willingness to learn some).
