Description Scope of the work is to define the framework and carry on the parameter estimation of a light helicopter for the purpose of design of stability augmentation and autopilot functions.
To this end the following tasks are envisaged:
Definition of the most appropriate modeling approach
Definition of the required type of inputs and maneuvers
Definition of the required set of parameters to be recorded
Support of the flight test activity
Flight path reconstruction
Parameter estimation
Due to the size of these tasks the whole work will be divided in several thesis works. The tasks and goals of the thesis will be defined with the supervisors at the beginning of the thesis.
The thesis will build up on existing model and simulation and parameter estimation tools developed for other rotary and fixed-wing programs.
The activity is carried out in collaboration with the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).
