Description Develop the use of profilometry for quality control of the extruded product in the tire manufacturing process (a profilometer is a measuring instrument for quantifying the roughness of a surface, and it is used to estimate product quality). The study focuses on the use of Cognex profilometers to continuously check the correctness of the coextruded profile of rubber products (tread and insulating underlayer), evaluating the possibility of adjusting the extrusion conditions (e.g. screw rotation speed and pressure) to in order to optimize the mass per linear unit
