Description Performance monitoring of networks is of great importance for service providers because it allows them to manage Service Level Agreements (SLA) with internal and external customers.
The problem addressed by the thesis is performance monitoring of QUIC traffic. QUIC is a new UDP-based transport protocol, introduced by Google and then standardized, which can reduce connection setup times and latency compared to TCP. QUIC is currently used for a significant part of the HTTP traffic generated by Chrome browsers towards Google servers, but also by other browsers and servers. Perspectively, its use is expected to increase in the next years, making its monitoring more and more important for network providers.
The goal of the thesis, to be developed in the TIM company, is to implement a proof of concept of new monitoring methods invented and patented by TIM. Finally, the monitoring solution prototype will be evaluated experimentally.
