Description In the field of functional and non-functional testing of web applications, a number of different techniques have been developed over the years, which differ according to the specific layer involved in the testing procedure (e.g. software services that are part of the back-end, or the application front-end) or of the methodology used for the definition of the tests (e.g. regarding the use of scripts for the definition of test cases).
This thesis work concerns the evaluation of the effectiveness and efficiency of innovative testing platforms and the adaptability of the solution in software service design and development contexts.
An integral part of the thesis will be the framing of the current state of the art of web application testing technologies and methodologies; an experimental protocol will then be defined and developed for the evaluation of a set of advanced testing tools used in real application contexts.
The activities of the thesis will be conducted with an external company.
