Description Specimens in gamma-TiAl intermetallic alloy have already been produced with Electron Beam Melting technology.
Each specimen is characterized by a different combination of process parameters. The student will characterize the specimens already built in terms of porosity and microstructure, will collect the results in reports thus highlighting the effect of the parameters and allowing to select the best combinations and / or how to further modify the process parameters of the next productions. The student will also analyze the scientific literature in order to actively contribute to the optimization of the process parameters. The student will attend the subsequent construction and will characterize the result obtained.
The activity will be done in the laboratories of Politecnico di Torino
