Thesis type SIMULATION AND DESIGN

Description Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) are a key element in the current energy transition process, as they enhance the production and consumption of renewable energy through the involvement of citizens and local communities. The Italian Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) is expected to be a valuable mean for the development of such initiatives in small municipalities, thanks to the financing of the expenditures for the installation of renewable infrastructure.
In this context, tools for the simulation, optimisation and sizing of such systems assume particular importance, to evaluate the economic performance of these system and at the same time assess energy and environmental aspects.
This thesis hence foresees two parallel activities: apply an existing open-source optimisation tools (named RECoupled) to different case studies in the area of Pinerolo; the integration of code for the post-processing and reporting of the results within the tool. The candidate will be supported in their activity by the research personnel that developed the tool.)
