Description This thesis proposal is part of H2020 PRELUDE citizen science and education activities. The work will focus on the monitoring of the indoor environmental quality of school buildings in the Piedmont Region. Additionally, the result will also include the information/activation of the end-users of those spaces. Candidate student(s) will define in the preliminary thesis part the focused thesis topic considering the following lines: development or identification of cloud monitoring solutions to detect the IEQ in buildings (indoor air quality and thermal comfort) with correlated GUI (graphical user interfaces). Positioned the sensors in a set of schools, the student(s) will develop a series of dissemination activities, including the activation of citizen science actions informing end-users (e.g. school students and teachers), retrieving feedback, supporting information actions for self-actuation to optimise/improve the IEQ in the monitored spaces. The thesis may focalise on ICT/IoT aspects correlated to smart-building monitoring, or on the IEQ monitoring and data elaboration actions, or even on the development of detailed activities involving the end-users in education and collaborative activities (data elaboration, feed-back, building simulations, etc.). Results will be discussed with academic and industrial partners.
