Thesis type ANALYSIS/SIMULATION
Description The thesis concerns the development of nonlinear guidance and control algorithms - by means of Nonlinear Model Predictive Control - for autonomous space missions. In this scenario, the study of guidance and control systems for autonomous spacecrafts in Lunar orbit is attracting a wide interest among space agencies and companies, in the view of future Lunar missions.
In detail, the thesis will be structured as follows:
- Study of relevant literature on predictive control and lunar orbital maneuvers.
- Development of guidance and control algorithms.
- Study and development of nonlinear optimization algorithm for optimal control.
- High-fidelity simulations for algorithm validation.
Required skills - Advanced automatic control knowledge.
- Matlab/Simulink.
- Optimization algorithm knowledge.
Notes The work will be carried out in cooperation with the University of Pisa.
