Description Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) plays a key role in electric vehicle industry due to its main advantages including high power density, operation efficiency, and an excellent start torque. An accurate prediction of the rotor temperature of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) can make the difference in terms of motor performances and system operation safety. But embedding a physical temperature sensor into the rotor is subject to a number of limitations. Thus, the industry needs solutions which offer an additional abstraction layers for limited operating cost. Implementing a real-time thermal model into motor controller is a cost-effective and rapid response protection method. The candidate will take part in a team dedicated to Automotive industrial research activities around Electrification and Autonomous Driving. The candidate will explore state of the art techniques for building Rotor Temperature Module and will develop its own module based on an Artificial Neural Network.
