Description Starting from a high-fidelity, multi-body simulation of a strain-wave gears (harmonic drive), the student will model the occurrence of kynematic errors, verifying its behavior against literature data. The student will then deploy the produced model within a simulation environment representative of a given case study, performing simulation campaigns to study the system behavior in nominal and degraded conditions. He will then analyze these data aiming at defining health indicators and producing algorithms suitable to monitor and prognose the evolution in time of the kynematic error.
Required skills Applied mechanics, knowledge of Matlab/Simulink environment
