Description The goal of the thesis is to develop an Electron application that records events on the network during web browsing, allowing the user to i) understand which data is sent to website and 2) prepare a notification to be sent to the Italian authority of privacy (Garante della Privacy). Logs should be formatted to be readable by a layman and attached to a form to be filled with the data of the user and sent to the privacy authority.
Once the application will be ready, experimental tests will be ran on a large corpus of websites, with particular attention to those belonging to public administrations, and a statistical analysis of which personal data are sent through navigation will be conducted. Tests can be automated with Selenium or similar tools.

Required skills The thesis requires very good knowledge of web applications and good capabilities of data analysis. Grade point average equal to or higher than 26 can play a relevant role in the selection.
