Applying fuzzy-logic to support a self-user actuation in smart buildings via alerts to optimise free-running usages

keywords FUZZY LOGIC, ICT FOR BUILDING, SMART BUILDINGS

Reference persons GIACOMO CHIESA

External reference persons Potenziali referenti industriali

Research Groups EDT

Thesis type RESEARCH / EXPERIMENTAL

Description The thesis candidate will develop an alert platform to optimise the free-running use of buildings following an intelligent vision to activate users in controlling available technologies (e.g. solar shading, ventilation, ...) to guarantee multi-comfort conditions focussing on indoor and outdoor conditions (thermal, visual, IAQ comfort). The platform will be connected with existing monitoring systems and a dynamic building simulation platform (PREDYCE) to collect boundary conditions. It will include a list of states to develop and apply a fuzzy logic defining the best suggestion to be passed to users to optimise comfort conditions and reduce energy needs. The system will be tested into actual buildings and is supported by the POLITO's actions for the EU H2020 project PRELUDE (prescient building optimisation).
