Description Offering precise and timely data regarding individuals' activities and behaviors stands as a paramount objective in pervasive computing. Countless potential applications arise across various domains such as medicine, security, entertainment, and tactical operations. Despite human activity recognition (HAR) being a field of active exploration for over a decade, there remain pivotal aspects that, if resolved, could mark a significant shift in how individuals engage with mobile devices. In this thesis the student will develop a mobile app that can efficiently collect user data, pre-process them, and use them to recognize the activity. This detection will likely occur using a distributed learning framework, as Federated Learning (FL), to combine the knowledge of multiple user devices.
