Thesis type THEORETICAL/EXPERIMENTAL
Description A multi-cloud is when an enterprise uses and orchestrates more than one cloud platform to deliver application services.
Infrastructures in cloud environments are usually managed by IaC (Infrastructure as Code) solutions that simplify infrastructure management.
There are also CMP (Cloud Management Platforms) specialized for multi-cloud management.
The thesis will address one of the following goals:
- analyze, setup, implement and compare different IaC platforms like Pulumi, Terraform or Ansible in a multi-cloud scenario based on at least two Cloud providers like IBM Cloud, Amazon, Google or Azure.
- analyze, setup, implement and compare different CMP like VMWare vRealize and
Morpheus Data in a multi-cloud scenario based on at least two Cloud providers like IBM Cloud, Amazon, Google or Azure.
The thesis will be developed within an internship in the Blue Reply Company.
The main challenge comes from developing the automation in a sufficiently abstract way, so that the development has not to be repeated for each new provider to be managed. The solutions will be evaluated on the basis of expected performance, processes and necessary compliance and security requirements. The final outcome will be the implementation of a library including different scenarios.
