Description The proposal concerns the development of innovative and sustainable design strategies for the archaeological areas present in the Unesco sites or which are themselves the component of uniqueness.
Musealisation and valorisation constitute two methodologically effective answers to the problem of the relationship between antiquity and the contemporary world in terms of fruition and sustainable development.
In this context, the interventions aimed at equipping UNESCO archaeological sites with cultural infrastructures, understood as buildings suitable for hosting cultural and communication activities, assume an important role. Among these, exhibitions, museums, archives, libraries and entertainment facilities offer ample scope for architectural design. The project sites that provide framework and background for the project activity are:
1) Villa Adriana in Tivoli, in its systemic relationship with Villa D'Este, Villa Gregoriana and the Sanctuary of Ercole Vincitore
2) Central Archaeological Area of Rome considered in its broad topography including Palatine, Celio, Oppio, Campo Vaccino and Imperial Forums.
3) Archaeological Cultural Park of Athens, including the Acropolis and its slopes, the Greek Agora, the Roman Agora and the Library of Hadrian and the hills of Pnyx, Philopappus and Aeropagus.
