Description Inconel samples have been built on pure Cu substrate using Directed Energy Deposition (DED), an additive manufacturing tecnique especially suitable for multimaterial structure and repair. The deposition on Cu is especially difficult due to its high thermal conductivity and high laser reflectivity.
DED building parameters have been varied and the quality of the interface has to be characterised.
Inconel - Cu multimaterial components find applications in the aerospace field.
