Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL

Description The candidate will be involved in the development of electrodes for PEMFC with next-generation ionomers. Specifically, the work will consist of the production and optimization of a catalytic ink formulation for a new and alternative deposition method (knife coating).
Different characterization techniques (rheological and electrochemical) will be used to propose a correlation between the characteristics of the catalyst, ionomer type and the deposition method. Electrochemical tests will be carried out through an innovative semi-cell system through the use of gas diffusion electrode.
Experimental activities will take place mainly at the Environmental Catalysis Laboratory (Blue Nox), at DISAT, and involve ongoing activities on industrial projects with European and American companies.

Required skills Knowledge of: materials, catalysis, electrocatalysis is most welcome.
