Description A comparative study of a form-finding method based on the dynamic equilibrium, ensured by d'Alambert's principle, of masses interconnected by rope elements in space is proposed. Equilibrium is achieved through an iterative process in the time domain of falling networks for the definition of the "catenary surface" coincident with the optimized form of the shell. We propose the imlemation of the method in Rhino or Python environment and its comparison in terms of shape with the dynamic relaxation, force density and truss network methods.
