Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL
Description The thesis proposal is part of the wide research field of lithium-ion batteries, and in particular within projects funded by the European community.
The thesis work aims to study the degradation phenomena of commercial cells subjected to "fast-charging" processes.
The experimental activity will be carried out in the laboratories of the electrochemistry group of the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) and in the laboratories of the interdepartmental Energy Center.
The main activities will concern:
- Electrochemical and thermal characterization of commercial cells
- Definition of testing protocols
- Analysis of the experimental results obtained and correlation with the degradation phenomena
The experimental work plan will be defined with the candidate at the beginning of the thesis period. Furthermore, the candidate will be supported and followed during his thesis by researchers and PhD students, and will learn to use the common tools and techniques in the study of materials and lithium batteries.
