Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL AND MODELING
Description The thesis proposal falls within the wider research field of active materials for new generation lithium-ion batteries, and in particular within active projects within the research group, funded by the European community.
The thesis work aims to develop and validate models able to predict the electrochemical behavior of Li-ion batteries with new generation materials by means of dedicated software.
The experimental and modeling activity will be carried out in the laboratories of the electrochemistry group of the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT).
The main activities will concern:
- Model development and calibration
- Assembly of electrochemical cells and prototypes
- Electrochemical characterization of cells/prototypes
- Validation of the model
The experimental work plan will be defined with the candidate at the beginning of the thesis period. Furthermore, the candidate will be supported and followed during his thesis by researchers and PhD students, and will learn to use the common tools and techniques in the study of materials and lithium batteries.
