Description Innovative coatings for space applications are necessary to improve performance and reliability. The development of such coatings must consider the harsh environment in Space, e.g., high-temperature variations, radiations, and impacts. This thesis aims to study new coatings with experimental characterization and multiscale modelling. The latter focuses on the influence of the microscale features of the coating on performance. Part of the activities will be carried out in the laboratories of ATLA in Chieri, https://www.atla.it/.
