Description The continuous integration of new content related to ADAS and HMI systems in car dashboard modules has led to a desperate research for space. This thesis aims is to evaluate the feasibility of routing electrical wiring through the structural dashboard cross beam, thereby freeing up space for the installation of other components.
Required skills Proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.
Knowledge in CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) for the evaluation and comparison of the cross tube's behavior before and after the modification.
Notes The complexity of a dashboard module is constantly increasing. Therefore, creating new free spaces can represent an opportunity in dashboard development. The goal of this research is to eliminate the cable obstruction (by routing it inside the cross tube), which is never negligible and entails maneuvering spaces and minimum distances to be adhered to. The complexity of the new cross beam and any positive and negative aspects during the assembly cycle will need to be assessed.
