Description For this work we propose using a device containing a suspended microchannel resonator with integrated electrodes to characterize the electrical and mechanical properties of different biological cells. The integrated electrodes allow trapping cells flown through the integrated microchannel, so we can measure different physical properties of the cell as mass or polarizability. The final target of this thesis is characterizing how cells (and other particles) response to variations to different physical or chemical parameters as temperature, pressure or chemical composition of the medium.

Required skills A medium level of English it is not mandatory but it is appreciated.

Notes Given the high interdisciplinary character of this research it fits for a wide range of profiles (any kind of engineers, physicist, chemist, biologist…). Moreover, this work is highly suitable for the students from the master nanotechnologies for ICT’s since in this thesis some topics studied in the subject "Physics of nanobiosystems" are applied.
