Descrizione Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques are pivotal in modern audio systems, particularly in applications like audio beamforming, where spatial sound processing is essential. Audio beamforming involves capturing sound from multiple sources and manipulating it to create focused or directional sound beams.

FPGA-based hardware design offers flexibility, scalability, and real-time processing capabilities, making it an ideal platform for implementing DSP algorithms for advanced audio beamforming. This thesis aims to explore FPGA-based hardware design and testing methodologies for implementing DSP algorithms in advanced audio beamforming applications.

The thesis student will:
- Design, specify and implement the DSP sound acquisition from multiple sources using an FPGA development board.
- Create a verification testbench that checks the correct behaviour.
- Evaluate the implemented FPGA-based systems in terms of resource utilization, power consumption, latency.
-At the end of this activity a PCB can also be designed with particular microphone array configuration and characterized in an anechoic chamber.
