Description Following a thorough state-of-the art survey, the student will identify the main effects of a distributed propulsion configuration for a conventional general aviation or regional transport aircraft. Then, aided by numerical tools, the stability characteristics of such architecture are to be determined. Subsequently, an optimized configuration is to be found and studied under maneuver and normal aircraft operations. Finally, a systematic method to estimate the influence of distributed propulsion is to be proposed and used as preliminary sizing tool.
