Description The analysis of blood flow with ultrasound Doppler requires the precise positioning of the 'sample volume' within the blood vessel of interest. This constraint is not compatible with monitoring during physical activity, dynamic contractions, or other manoeuvres that cause a displacement of the insonate vessel relative to the ultrasound probe. In this thesis we aim to evaluate alternative methods based on image analysis.
