Descrizione Bridge integrity assessments require accurate monitoring of deflections for early deterioration detection and preventing failures. This research explores the Inverse Finite Element Method (iFEM) as a promising, load- and material-independent technique for real-time bridge deflection monitoring with minimal computational cost. Despite its potential, iFEM's application on real-world, deteriorating bridges lacks experimental validation. This project aims to bridge this gap by applying iFEM to monitor deflections on a full-scale deteriorating bridge within the Bridge Evaluation & Accelerated Structural Testing (BEAST) Lab at Rutgers’s Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation, NJ USA
