Thesis type SIMULATIVE AND EXPERIMENTAL

Description Gas atomisation is a metal powder production process that yields powders with high sphericity by crushing a molten metal stream. The molten metal is conveyed through a ceramic tube to the atomiser head, where a high-velocity gas breaks up the stream. To maximise productivity and repeatability and avoid plant damage, it is crucial to know the temperature of the molten metal during atomisation.
The aim of the thesis is to develop a non-linear, multi-material model to determine the temperature reached by the ceramic tube carrying the molten metal throughout the process.

Required skills FEM heat exchange simulation
